Since 1959, Chicago Tank Lining has successfully lined many thousands
of
underground and above ground storage tanks. Each tank is lined
or inspected
with exacting care and detail to ensure a proper coating installation
that
will provide many years of leak-free, maintenance-free service.
All of our employees are OSHA confined space trained and obtain
yearly safety and first
aid training. We are licensed by the State of Illinois.
OUR SERVICES INCLUDE:
UST
INSPECTIONS:
Chicago Tank Lining is licensed to perform 10-year
and 5-year tank inspections for previously lined tanks. We use
only
state-approved coatings for UST touchups and repairs.
UST LINING:
If a previously lined tank coating fails inspection,
we are
permitted to remove the existing coating and completely reline
the tank (as long as the tank is structurally sound). If this is
required, we supply the tank owner with a new, 10-year guarantee.
There are occasions when we are asked to line tanks that have not
been previously lined. This happens when a cathodically protected
tank
has leaked or an owner is concerned that a fiberglass tank may
not be compatible with ethanol/methanol blends. Also, some companies
want the added
insurance
that interior lining provides and hires us to line tanks that have
been
previously cathodically protected. We use only state-approved coatings
for
complete relining.
back to top AST LINING:
We coat the interior and/or exterior of virtually
all types of ASTs containing virtually any product. Most petroleum ASTs require
only the bottom and a few feet up the sidewall to be coated. Other ASTs
may require
complete internal lining. Whatever the case, we research and use
the best coating system available (including fiberglass reinforced material)
and carefully install it to provide the maximum corrosion protection
available.
SECONDARY CONTAINMENT LINING:
We use a variety of coatings and
sheet goods, determined by the condition of the area and what product is to
be contained, to provide leak-proof, durable secondary containment. We treat
secondary containment as carefully as we would primary containment. Our motto
is:
"
Secondary containment is primary containment waiting to happen.
