Chicago Tank Lining was incorporated in 1959 by Raymond Brand. His eldest son, Ken, entered the business about 30 years ago. While he was still in high school, Ken would help out after school at whatever job was running at the time. Eventually, once Ken began working full time, he became operations manager and since then has been responsible for the extraordinary quality installations and reputation Chicago Tank Lining maintains. Ken is also responsible for the excellent safety record and is constantly vigilant in maintaining the highest quality in terms of coating application and safety. After lining more than an estimated 8,000 tanks, we estimate a failure rate of less than .01%.

About 15 years ago, Warren Brand, Ray's youngest son, entered the business. After spending several years in the field alongside Ken, the business was restructured. Ken moved into a more supervisory and management role in maintaining field operations and Warren focused on marketing and broadening the services Chicago Tank Lining offers.

For the past 10 years, Ray slowly allowed his sons to transition into managerial roles and, finally, to manage all aspects of the business.

Warren and Ken purchased the company from Ray in 1998, marking a smooth and amiable transition from one generation to the next. While Ray is predominantly retired, he still lends a hand and maintains his ties with the company and his sons in an advisory role.

Warren and Ken continue to work closely together to maintain Chicago Tank Lining's sterling reputation. Occasionally, and very slowly with much research and study, new products, coatings or services are introduced. The most recent development is the distribution of a unique pipe repair system.

The list of customers Chicago Tank Lining has had the privilege or working for over the years reads like a Who's Who in business. Sadly, there is very little repeat business. Most tanks lined by Chicago Tank simply don't need to be relined again, whether the guarantee is for 1 year or 10 years.

Since there is so little repeat business, Chicago Tank has had to turn into a smart, fast, marketing company as well as the leading tank liner in the area. These combined skills with the combined experience both Ken and Warren bring to the business, promise to lead Chicago Tank Lining to a successful future.
